Well, for my next trick ... I will be taking the ridiculous vehicle (shown on the left) down through France and Spain to North Africa. The bike is a Yamaha XT600E. It's awful ... but luckily so is the rider. So, we get on just fine But, this is just in comparison to the bike I usually ride - a Honda VFR800FI (the big, red plastic bus shown below).

When I get to Africa (if I get that far) it will be perfect. I have fitted a 23 litre Acerbis fuel tank (currently giving me at least a 400km range), a Scottoiler to avoid having to get all messy with chain lube, uprated the steel bars to Afam alloy numbers and fitted Acerbis brush guards and Scott grips. A K&N filter should keep the sand out. Pirelli MT21s sould keep me shiny side up in the desert (yeah, right) even if they do kill any confidence I have on the tarmac. I will be leaving the UK on 4th February 2002 ... please feel free to join me if you want ... sense of humour required (as I don't have one).

First stop is Chefchaouen up in the Rif Mountains. Then through the Middle Atlas, High Atlas and on to Erg Chebbi and the Sahara desert. Check my bike links for useful overlanding and various biking and travel links. Then I'm off Round the World in April 2002 !
